  • *It’s Yellow Ribbon Week. You all know the facts about suicide. What do you know about prevention? Caring friends are a huge part of the equation. Students are much more likely to come into contact with potential rescuers in the school than they are in other community settings. Be a hero. Help a friend to use his or her Yellow Ribbon Card.
  • UPCOMING IMPORTANT CALENDAR DATES
  • Auditions for the fall play William Shakespeare’s King Henry IV are coming soon. This year’s play will be a filmed project, with the final product available on YouTube. In the spirit of filming, all of the auditions will be recorded as well. Pick up an audition packet from Mr. Boyer in the auditorium, prepare a reading, record it, and get it to Mr. Boyer by Monday, October 5. The drama department is excited to announce that everyone who auditions will have a role in the cast. So, if you’ve been looking for something to do and have wanted to give acting a try, this is your year!
  • (Remote students may contact Mr. Boyer for an audition packet at boyerj@usd450.net.)
  • Attention Students and Staff: Due to the changes and trying to limit contact, there will be no lunch deposits done during the meal service periods. If you have money to be deposited into your account, please see Mrs. Stearns during any passing period. Thank you
  • Mr. Paget and Ms. Fleming’s (which previously was Ms. Hanna’s room) literally has hundreds of works of art in their classrooms from last semester. If you took ceramics/metalsmithing/painting last spring, please stop by and pick up your artwork after school in the very near future.
  • Remember if you are experiencing stressors, struggles or are lonely you can access 7 Cups. 7 Cups provides one-on-one messaging with a live person available 24/7. It offers a listening ear and strategies that help teens address a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and loneliness. For more information, download the 7 Cups app, visit the Shawnee Heights High School Counseling Department Facebook page, or pick up a 7 Cups card in the counseling center or from one of the posters.
