  • SHHS SPORTS:
  • On Thursday, February 5th Addison Cooper will be signing to Kansas City Community College for softball at 2:45pm in the cafeteria.
  • Congratulations to our King and Queen of Courts nominees!
  • Queen nominees are Cianna Graves, Ella Halseth, Aubrey Hamilton, Leila Marusenko, and Fiona Stevenson
  • King nominees are Cesar Esparza, Caleb Franke, Quincy Hamm, Michael Lilly, and Cayden Lindsay. The celebration will take place at the basketball game on January 9th. The dance will follow from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Dress is semi-formal, and the cost is five dollars. Outside date forms are now in the main office, deadline is Thursday, Jan. 8th.
  • Frau Becker is incredibly proud to recognize Azelea Gunn and Cylus Perkins for advancing to the interview round of the prestigious Congress-Bundestag Scholarship program. This is a remarkable achievement that reflects their hard work, academic excellence, and commitment to global learning.As part of the next stage of the selection process, Azelea Gunn will be traveling to Denver, and Cylus Perkins will be traveling to Atlanta for their interviews. Advancing to this level is a significant honor, and we are thrilled to see our students representing our school on such a distinguished stage. Please join us in congratulating Azelea as well as Cyrus and wishing them the very best. We are so proud of you!
  • The 2024-2025 Thunderbird Yearbook was named a 5A ALL KANSAS recipient by the Kansas Scholastic Press Association. Congratulations to the editors and staff!
  • Juniors and Seniors, prom invitations have been passed out. If you did not get your or would like a replacement invitation, please stop by Ms. Coulter's room, room 404 and say. "Hello Ms. Coulter! My name is (insert name here) and I am a junior/senior asking for a prom invitation, please." and she will gladly get you one.
  • Football and soccer players, winter conditioning will begin Wednesday, January 7th after school. After school weights will be on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays until 3:30pm. If you are not in a sport, you are expected to be at weights.
  • Any girls interested in playing soccer this spring stop by Mr. Simons's room 331 to sign up.
  • Student Council is partnering with Maxton's Fight, a local charity that supports children battling life-threatening illnesses. To support, please donate toys in the drop box outside of the mail office. Thank you!
  • ACTIVITIES:
  • 2028 Italy Trip: We have an exciting trip to Italy with Frau Becker during Spring Break of 2028. This trip is open to students, parents, grandparents and other friends of the district. Please see Frau Becker in room 615 for more information.
